Methodology

MMF Kenya Tracker is designed to make money market fund information easier to compare. We focus on published performance data, practical return estimates and clear education for Kenyan savers.

1. Fund universe

The tracker includes Kenyan money market funds where public performance or product information is available. We prioritise funds that can be checked against fund-manager factsheets, official scheme listings or credible market benchmark sources.

2. Performance metric

The main ranking metric is the published annual yield or Effective Annual Rate. Where sources use different reporting language, the site presents the figure as a comparable published annual rate for easier review.

3. Estimated net monthly return

The calculator converts the annual rate into a monthly estimate using monthly compounding, then deducts the selected withholding-tax assumption. This is only an educational estimate and may not match the exact amount credited by a fund manager.

4. Source transparency

Each monthly update should record the month, fund name, published yield, source reference and capture date. Rates can change frequently, so users should always confirm the latest factsheet and account terms before making decisions.

5. Ranking limitations

Highest yield is not always the best option for every saver. Liquidity, minimum investment, withdrawal timelines, fees, reporting quality and personal cash needs also matter.
